My 2026 Planner Setup: Planning Goals, Projects & Rhythms Before the New Year

Every year, I try to resist the urge to rush my planner setup — and every year, December reminds me why slowing down matters.
This year, instead of jumping straight into weekly layouts and to-do lists, I’m starting my 2026 planner setup with intention. Before the new year begins, I’m focusing on three foundational pieces: goals, projects, and rhythms.
Using the Jane’s Agenda Planathon process, I began by asking deeper questions about how I want to feel in 2026 — not just what I want to accomplish. That clarity helped me choose behavior-based goals, which then naturally guided the projects I’ll work on throughout the year.
From there, I used Gantt chart project planning inserts to map out those projects seasonally, giving myself permission to stop trying to do everything at once. Finally, I began laying out my known family rhythms using monthly planner inserts, anchoring the year with what’s already true.
This setup isn’t finished yet — my January Deluxe Subscription Box will help me complete it next week — but creating the structure ahead of time has already brought so much peace.
Planning doesn’t have to feel rushed or overwhelming. Sometimes, the most meaningful planning happens quietly, before the calendar even turns.
