My 2026 Planner Setup Basket | Preparing for the New Year with Jane’s Agenda Planathon

There’s something about the middle of December that invites us to slow down and reflect. The year isn’t quite over yet, but our hearts and minds are already beginning to look ahead — wondering what the next season will hold, what God might be inviting us into, and how we want our days to feel in the year ahead.

Instead of rushing straight into a full planner setup, I’ve been taking a gentler, more intentional approach this year. I’ve been gathering the pieces for my 2026 planner slowly, keeping them together in what I like to call my planner setup basket, and using Jane’s Agenda Planathon to thoughtfully prepare for the year ahead.

This slower rhythm has helped me move from pressure to peace — and today I wanted to share that process with you.

Why I’m Using a Planner Setup Basket This Year

In past years, I often felt the urge to “get it all done” in one sitting. But I’ve learned that meaningful planning doesn’t come from rushing — it comes from reflection.

My planner setup basket gives me a physical place to hold:

  • Ideas I’m still praying through
  • Inserts I know I’ll use
  • Tools I’m considering but haven’t committed to yet

Instead of making fast decisions, I’m allowing myself the space to think, dream, and discern what I truly need for this next year.

What’s in My 2026 Planner Setup Basket

Here’s what I’m currently working with as I prepare my 2026 planner:

  • Jane’s Agenda Monthly Tab Dividers
  • Monthly No. 46 Planner Inserts (dated with a yearly quick-glance section)
  • Goals Planner Inserts (E-58-7) for big-picture intention setting
  • Project Planning Inserts with Gantt Charts (E-59-7) to map out meaningful projects
  • Planner Dashboard Set | Reminders for gentle visual cues
  • Vegan Leather Snap Covers in Beige (Shell) and Midnight Blue (I’m still deciding!)
  • 1.5” Gold Metal Discs to hold everything together

Each of these pieces earned its place in the basket — not because I felt like I should use them, but because they support how I want to live and plan in 2026.

How Jane’s Agenda Planathon Is Guiding My Setup

One of the biggest helps in this process has been Jane’s Agenda Planathon. Rather than focusing on decorating or filling pages right away, Planathon encourages thoughtful planning — asking questions like:

  • What matters most in this season?
  • What rhythms support the life I want to live?
  • How do goals, habits, and projects work together?

Planathon has helped me slow down and approach my planner as a tool for clarity, not clutter.

Important note:
Planathon replays are available through the Jane’s Agenda Masterplan Collective, which is an off–social media membership full of planner education, encouragement, and support. If you’re wanting to plan alongside me or revisit these sessions at your own pace, the Masterplan Collective is the place to do that. You can find out more here: Masterplan Collective

Preparing Now, Setting Up Later

I haven’t fully assembled my 2026 planner yet — and that’s on purpose.

Once my January Deluxe Subscription Box arrives, I’ll finish choosing my cover, assemble my sections, and complete my full setup. This approach keeps planning enjoyable instead of overwhelming, and it gives me time to respond thoughtfully to what I learn during Planathon.

If you’re feeling behind, unsure, or pressured to have everything figured out already, let this be your permission slip to slow down. Planning is meant to serve you — not stress you.

A Gentle Encouragement as We Close the Year

As we prepare for a new year, remember this:
You don’t need a perfect planner to live a meaningful life.

You just need tools that support your season, systems that bring peace, and rhythms that leave room for grace.

If you’d like help setting up your planner, organizing your routines, or creating systems that support your homemaking and daily life, you can now book 1:1 coaching sessions directly through my website — no waitlist required.

I’ll be sharing more of my 2026 planner setup very soon, including my full walkthrough later this month. Until then, take things little by little, and trust that this slower pace is preparing you well for what’s ahead.
