Balancing Work & Home in One Planner | My Mid-February Reset

The snow has finally melted here, and the air feels just warm enough to remind me that spring is coming.

February always feels like an in-between month. Not quite winter. Not quite spring. Just a gentle pause — a moment to reassess what’s working and what needs adjusting.

Today I’m sharing my mid-February planner check-in and how I’m balancing both work and home inside one planner using the Weekly 33 inserts.

Because the question isn’t just:

Can I plan both?

It’s:

Can I plan both well — without feeling pulled in opposite directions?

Looking Back at My February Setup

A few weeks ago, I shared my February setup. Now that I’ve actually been living in these pages, I can see what’s working — and what needed adjusting.

The biggest realization?

The system itself isn’t the problem.

It’s how we use it.

When life shifts — appointments, deadlines, health goals, family rhythms — the planner has to flex with us.

That’s what this mid-month check-in is about.

Not perfection.

Adjustment.

Using Weekly 32 & 33 for Work & Home

On the the Weekly 32 inserts in my planner, I’ve been keeping my work tasks.

In between, on the Weekly 33 inserts, home.

Seeing both at the same time has been surprisingly grounding. The key for me was folding the Weekly 33 inserts in half around my Hybrid Dashboard. This allows me to easily flip open to the current week. It also allows me to see both the tasks and lists I’m using for Home and my schedule and priorities for work.

Instead of separating my roles into different planners, I’m allowing them to coexist on the same spread.

Because they do coexist in real life.

This layout helps me:

  • Avoid overcommitting
  • See busy days clearly
  • Make space for rest
  • Be more realistic about my capacity

Adding Health Tracking Before Lent

With Lent beginning next week, I’m gently layering in additional health tracking.

Nothing extreme.

Just:

  • Movement
  • Simple habit tracking
  • A renewed focus on fruits and vegetables
  • And my 40 Miles in 40 Days walking challenge

I created a free printable tracker if you’d like to join me — available in both Letter and Classic planner sizes. This was inspired by the Forty Forty Challenge, and if you’re looking for more than just my tracker, I highly recommend you check it out: https://fortyfortychallenge.com/

The goal isn’t intensity.

It’s faithfulness.

Mid-Month Reset Reminder

You don’t need a brand-new planner to reset.

You just need:

  • A few quiet minutes
  • Honest reflection
  • And permission to adjust

February doesn’t have to unravel.

It can realign.

And sometimes the most productive thing we can do is pause and ask:

Can I carry both well?
