Closing Out February: My Weekly Planner Reset During a Busy Season

As February comes to a close and we’re settling into March, I like to take a little time to reset my planner and prepare for the week ahead. Even during a busy season, this small routine helps me stay grounded and organized.

In this post, I’m sharing my weekly planner reset routine and how I wrap up lingering tasks as one month ends and a new month begins.

Section 1 β€” Reviewing the Week

Start by reviewing:

  • unfinished and unrecorded tasks
  • projects that need to move forward
  • priorities for the coming week

This step helps prevent tasks from quietly carrying over week after week.

Section 2 β€” Closing Out February

At the end of a month, I like to:

  • finish what remaining tasks I can
  • move unfinished projects and tasks into the next month
  • reflect on what actually got done, what I want to carry forward, and what I want to let go of or pause on for now.

Even a quick review can bring clarity.

Section 3 β€” Resetting the Planner

My weekly reset usually includes:

  • setting priorities and focus areas for the week
  • setting time blocks and scheduled appointments
  • planning content tasks
  • leaving space for flexibility

Conclusion

A weekly reset doesn’t have to take long. Even a short planning session can make a busy week feel more manageable.
