May Planner Refresh: Resetting My Planner for Focus + Progress

There are seasons when your planner needs more than just a different cover—it needs a full reset.

That’s exactly how I felt going into May.

After wrapping up April, I realized I needed more clarity, more focus, and a better system for the projects I’m actively building right now.

So this month, my planner refresh became less about decorating pages and more about creating space for intentional progress.

Switching My Planner Cover

One of the first things I decided to do was swap my Rose Gold vegan leather planner cover for my Royal Blue cover.

I wanted something that coordinated beautifully with the May floral plastic cover from the Jane’s Agenda May Deluxe Subscription Box, and the Royal Blue felt like the perfect fresh change for spring.

It gave my planner a whole new feel—and honestly, sometimes even small visual changes help create momentum.

Reviewing April + Archiving Inserts

Before moving fully into May, I took time to review my April inserts.

I looked through what worked, what I completed, what still needed attention, and how the month felt overall.

Then I removed those inserts and archived them in my 2026 archive planner I’m building for the year.

This is one of my favorite parts of the monthly reset because it helps me close one chapter before stepping into the next.

Building My May Setup

For May, I used an aquamarine color palette throughout my monthly pages and weekly inserts.

I also included:

  • my monthly prayer page
  • monthly habit tracker
  • routines I’m continuing to build
  • a page to map out my projects
  • intentional space for priorities

I love when my planner feels both beautiful and functional.

That balance matters so much.

A New Weekly Planning System

One of the biggest changes I made was switching to the Week on Four Pages Insert No. 14 from Jane’s Agenda.

I had an older dated set on hand, so I simply re-dated it and started using it for the final week of April through the third week of May.

Why?

Because I needed more room.

Right now, I’m working heavily on two major projects:
Project A → My Index Card Course
Project B → My Index Card Printables

I needed a weekly layout that gave me more space for focused daily to-do lists and helped me protect time for deep work before school lets out.

This shift has already helped me feel more clear and intentional.

My Weekly Rhythm

At the front of this new insert set, I created a simple page outlining my weekly rhythm and how I’m focusing differently each day.

This helps me stay anchored in my priorities instead of reacting to whatever feels urgent.

And honestly, that kind of reset is exactly what I needed.

Final Thoughts

This planner refresh reminded me that sometimes productivity isn’t about doing more—it’s about making better space for what matters most.

This season is stretching me.

It feels exciting.
It feels uncertain.
And it feels important.

But I’m learning that clarity often comes through small resets and intentional routines.

And that’s exactly what May is about for me.
