🌸 My Slow Sunday Reset Routine (With Free Checklist for Moms!)

Because we all need a day to rest and reset

Hey friend!

If you’re anything like me, you know Sundays can either feel like a sweet exhale or a chaotic scramble before Monday hits.

I’ve learned over the years that I don’t need to cram a million things into Sunday to feel “ready” for the week — in fact, the slower I take it, the better I show up for my family, my home, and myself.

That’s why today, I’m sharing my Slow Sunday Reset Routine — a gentle rhythm I follow most weekends that helps me reset without stress. Plus, I made you a free printable checklist so you can create your own Sunday reset too!

💒 Why Sunday Resets Matter

As a mom, my Sundays aren’t just about chores or planning — they’re about putting faith, family, and rest at the center of my week.

I start my day with 8:00 am Mass, grounding myself in God’s presence before I even think about the house or the schedule. I intentionally leave my phone in the care so I can be fully present in the Mass. This spiritual anchor keeps me centered when the to-dos start swirling.

From there, I let the day unfold in a slow, intentional way — not rushing, not cramming, just moving through a few reset tasks that help me feel refreshed and prepared.

🌿 My Simple Sunday Reset Routine

Here’s what a typical Sunday looks like at our house:

Faith first — Church, prayer, and a little devotional time.

Fresh sheets — I love changing all the bed linens on Sunday! There’s nothing like sliding into clean sheets at the end of a long day.

Laundry light — I only focus on one load: sheets. No marathon laundry day here!

Calendar check — I review the family calendar to see what’s coming up: appointments, school events, work stuff.

Meal plan + prep — I write out our meals for the week and add to the grocery list. If I’m feeling extra motivated, I prep a few snacks or lunches ahead.

Light tidy-up — I do a quick reset of the main living spaces — fluff the pillows, clear the counters, tidy the entryway.

Decluttering (optional) — If I have time, I tackle a small project like a drawer, work bag, or fridge shelf.

Rest + family time — This is so important! I make sure to carve out time for a nap, a walk, or something fun with the family. Sundays are for slowing down, not hustling.

💗 Final Thoughts: You Don’t Have to “Do It All”

Mama, hear me on this: a Sunday reset is not about perfection or having a spotless house. It’s about gently preparing your heart, your home, and your family for the week ahead — while leaving space for rest, joy, and flexibility.

You are already doing enough. Give yourself permission to reset in a way that feels good for you.
