My Monthly Planner Reset Routine | November Plan With Me

Somehow, November arrived before I felt ready for it!

After a fun Halloween and a busy weekend, I found myself feeling a little scattered and behind. I hadn’t quite wrapped up October, and I was already looking at a new month full of appointments, activities, and things I wanted to accomplish.

I realized what I really needed was to sit down, spend a little time with my planner, and get grounded for the month ahead.

So today, I’m sharing my November Plan With Me and walking through my monthly planner reset routine in my Jane’s Agenda Classic planner.

This isn’t about creating a perfect planner or having every detail figured out before the month begins. It’s simply about taking some time to reset, organize, and make my planner a useful tool for the season I’m in.

Using My Monthly Planner Reset Index Card

One of the things that helped me get started was pulling out my Monthly Planner Reset index card from my work index card set.

I keep this set in my office, and it includes cards that walk me through recurring tasks and routines in my business and everyday work.

My monthly planner reset card is a simple reminder of the steps I like to take when starting a new month. When I was feeling scattered, having that little card to guide me was exactly what I needed.

Instead of trying to remember everything I wanted to do, I could simply follow the steps one at a time.

That’s one of the things I appreciate about my index card system. It helps me get things out of my head and gives me a starting point when I don’t quite know where to begin.

Updating My November Planner Cover

The first thing I wanted to work on was refreshing the outside of my planner.

I recently received my November Jane’s Agenda Deluxe Subscription Box, which included a coordinating plastic cover. I also had a little stash of decorative dashboards that I could choose from.

I pulled out a few possibilities and decided which one I wanted to use for November.

It’s a small detail, but I enjoy having a planner that feels fresh and inviting when I open it.

Archiving My Old Planner Pages

Next, I moved on to archiving my old planner inserts.

And apparently, I had gotten a little behind here, too!

Somehow, I had never removed September from my planner, so I had both September and October to take care of.

I went through the pages, removed the inserts I was finished using, and added them to my 2026 Archive Planner.

This is one of those simple monthly reset tasks that can be easy to overlook, but it makes a difference when I have a fresh month in front of me and only the pages I currently need in my planner.

Decorating My November Planner Pages

Once I had the old inserts out of the way, I turned my attention to decorating November.

I already had the basic structure of my monthly pages in place. My appointments and recurring tasks were noted, and I had used a light gray highlight to give the pages a little organization.

But I enjoy adding some decorative touches, too.

For this month’s pages, I used a free sticker sheet from the Prayerful Planner. I worked my way through the November pages, adding stickers and a little extra decoration while chatting about our Halloween weekend and some of the fun things coming up on our calendar.

I don’t need my planner to be elaborate or perfectly decorated. I just like making it a space I enjoy using.

My Finished November Planner Setup

After working through my reset, I felt much more ready for November.

I still had a few things to do outside the video, including my monthly review and reflection, migrating tasks, and completing a monthly mind sweep.

But I had made a good start.

Sometimes getting organized isn’t about finishing every single task. It’s about taking a little time to see where you are, decide what needs your attention, and create a place to begin.

I’m also feeling good about the holiday preparations we’ve already been working through inside my Peaceful Home Membership. Having those small steps and tasks organized ahead of time is helping me make progress without feeling like I need to do everything at once.

Give Yourself Permission to Start Where You Are

If your new month has started and you haven’t quite caught up, I hope you’ll remember that you can still take a moment to reset.

You don’t have to wait until everything is finished. You don’t have to have the perfect planner setup. And you don’t have to follow someone else’s routine exactly.

Start with what would help you feel a little more organized today.

Maybe that’s archiving last month’s pages, writing down everything on your mind, reviewing your calendar, or simply choosing one small task to work on.

Your planner should support your life, not become another thing you feel behind on.

The system works for me. I don’t work for the system.
