September Monthly Prayer & Reflection | A Guided Faith-Based Planning Retreat

As summer begins winding down and we’re getting ready for a new school year, I’ve been looking ahead at the calendar and thinking about the month of September.
It’s easy for this time of year to feel like a rush from one thing to the next.
So before jumping into school schedules, routines, activities, and all of the things that come with a new season, I wanted to create a little space to slow down.
That’s what today’s video is all about.

In this month’s Monthly Prayer & Reflection Retreat, I’m walking through my Monthly Faith-Based Planner Guide as I create my September Monthly Prayer & Intentional Living Page.
This isn’t meant to be another planner task to check off your list.
Instead, think of it as a little invitation to pause.
To pray.
To reflect.
To listen.
And to consider how you want to intentionally live the month ahead.

If you’d like to follow along, you can download my free Monthly Faith-Based Planner Guide.
The guide gives you space to work through:
- A monthly focus word
- Bible verse
- Virtue
- Key word
- Theme
- Reflection
- Monthly prayer
- Monthly affirmation
- Ways to live your focus
- Questions for reflection
- Simple ways to bring your intentions into your everyday routines
You don’t have to complete everything perfectly, and you certainly don’t have to come up with the perfect word or verse.
Use the prompts as an invitation to pray and reflect.
A Quiet Place to Stay
At the end of this month’s retreat, I’ve included about 14 additional minutes of peaceful scenery from my front porch with gentle music.
I intentionally left this time open.
You can use it to finish writing your page, continue praying, sit quietly, or simply rest for a few minutes.
You don’t need to accomplish anything during this time.
Just be.
Bringing Your Intentions Into Everyday Life
One of my favorite parts of this process is taking the things I’m praying and reflecting about and finding simple ways to actually live them.
That’s where my Index Card System comes in.
Our planners are wonderful places to think, plan, reflect, and dream—but eventually those intentions need to make their way into our everyday lives.
Sometimes that looks like a small household routine.
Sometimes it’s a habit.
Sometimes it’s a reminder of something important.
And often, it’s simply choosing one small next step.
That’s the heart behind my Peaceful Home Index Card System and the reason I’ve enjoyed connecting my planner practice with the simple routines that happen throughout our homes and lives.
I’d Love to Hear From You
If you joined me for this month’s virtual retreat, I’d love to hear what you thought.
Would you enjoy having these guided prayer and reflection sessions become a regular monthly part of the channel?
And if you haven’t tried the printable yet, I hope you’ll download it and make it your own.
You don’t need a perfect planner.
You don’t need a perfect routine.
You simply need a little space to pause, pray, reflect, and take the next small step.
